Many neurodivergent young people can experience social isolation, anxiety, and barriers to finding activities and communities where they feel comfortable, understood and accepted.
Traditional environments don't always work for everyone. Busy spaces, social expectations, sensory demands and a focus on fitting in can make it difficult for some young people to find opportunities where they can simply be themselves.
Neurohive exists to create a different kind of space.
Neurohive CIC is a Wakefield-based Community Interest Company creating inclusive, neuro-affirming spaces, activities and communities for young people through gaming, creativity and community connection.
We create opportunities for young people to connect with others, explore their interests, build confidence and develop a sense of belonging, both online and in the community.

What We Do
Our Projects
Funtime Games
A safe, moderated online gaming community for neurodivergent young people, providing opportunities to play, socialise and build friendships through Minecraft.
A free, inclusive gaming space for young people aged 11–17 living in Wakefield.
Gaming Hangout offers an alternative to traditional youth provision, creating a calmer, interest-led environment where young people can meet others, play games and socialise without the pressures that can make busy or overwhelming youth settings difficult to access.

Gaming is at the heart of Neurohive's current projects. We use shared interests in gaming to create opportunities for young people to connect, build friendships and develop confidence in supportive, inclusive spaces.
Our Outcomes
"Funtime Games has made a huge difference to our Home Ed journey. When we started my daughter was suffering from burnout and low mental health and low self esteem, and although we tried many in person meet ups, it was often too much for her. And not being able to go regularly made making friends harder."
